The Museum of Pharmacy of the Jagiellonian University is the largest and oldest pharmacy museum in Poland. Located in a historic 14th‑century townhouse at 25 Floriańska Street, it was founded in 1946 and now occupies all five floors of the building, including the medieval cellar and attic.
Its collection features antique pharmacy furniture, laboratory equipment, tools for drug production, apothecary jars, medicinal raw materials and rare prints such as herbals and historical pharmacopeias. The interior of an 18th‑century monastic pharmacy has also been reconstructed.
Special exhibition rooms are dedicated to notable pharmacists, including Ignacy Łukasiewicz, inventor of the kerosene lamp, and Tadeusz Pankiewicz, who ran the “Under the Eagle” pharmacy in the Kraków Ghetto and helped save Jewish residents during World War II.
