The Jardí Botànic de Sóller began in 1985 and was opened to the public in 1992 as a centre for conservation, research and learning about Mediterranean flora, especially the flora of the Balearic Islands.In April 1997 it became a foundation, whose patrons are the Government of the Balearic Islands, the Council of Mallorca, the Town Council of Sóller, the University of the Balearic Islands, the Caja de Baleares "SA NOSTRA", the Ibero-Macaronesian Association of Botanical Gardens and the Association of the Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences.

El Jardí Botànic de Sóller se inició en 1985 y fue abierto al público en 1992 como centro de conservación, investigación y aprendizaje de la flora mediterránea y especialmente de la flora balear.En abril de 1997 se constituyó en fundación, de la que son patrones el Gobierno de las Islas Baleares, el Consejo de Mallorca, el Ayuntamiento de Sóller, la Universidad de las Islas Baleares, la Caja de Baleares "SA NOSTRA", la Asociación Ibero-Macaronésica de Jardines Botánicos y la Asociación Museo Balear de Ciencias Naturales.
