The Radogoszcz Branch is located in the former textile factory building of Samuel Abbe, which during World War II was converted into the Men’s Expanded Police Prison for inhabitants of the Wartheland accused of violating German occupation laws.
The most tragic event occurred during the night of 17–18 January 1945, when—shortly before the Red Army entered the city—the German guards set the prison on fire and positioned a machine gun at the only exit. More than 1,000 prisoners were killed in the massacre.
Today, the museum commemorates the victims of World War II and the martyrdom of the residents of Łódź and the Wartheland. It offers permanent exhibitions and maintains the surrounding memorial grounds, preserving the remains of the former prison as a lasting witness to the tragedy.

Oddział Martyrologii Radogoszcz mieści się w budynku dawnej fabryki Samuela Abbego, który w czasie II wojny światowej został przekształcony w męskie Rozszerzone Więzienie Policyjne przeznaczone dla mieszkańców Kraju Warty naruszających niemieckie przepisy okupacyjne.
Najtragiczniejsze wydarzenia miały miejsce w nocy z 17 na 18 stycznia 1945 roku, kiedy Niemcy – tuż przed wkroczeniem Armii Czerwonej – podpalili budynek więzienia, a przy jedynym wyjściu ustawili karabin maszynowy, uniemożliwiając ucieczkę. W masakrze zginęło ponad 1000 osób.
Muzeum upamiętnia ofiary II wojny światowej oraz martyrologię mieszkańców Łodzi i Kraju Warty. Obiekt udostępnia ekspozycje stałe oraz teren pamięci wokół dawnych zabudowań więziennych, zachowanych jako materialne świadectwo tragicznych wydarzeń.
