The Royal Castle in Warsaw, located on Castle Square at the entrance to the Old Town, served for centuries as the official residence of Polish monarchs and the seat of the Parliament. It was here that the Constitution of 3 May 1791 — the first in Europe — was drafted and adopted.
The castle was completely destroyed during World War II, but was meticulously rebuilt between 1971 and 1984 in one of the most significant reconstruction efforts in post‑war Poland. Today it functions as both a museum and a state ceremonial venue. Visitors can explore the royal apartments, the Senator’s Hall, European art collections including works by Rembrandt, and the famous Canaletto paintings used during the post‑war rebuilding of Warsaw.
The Royal Castle forms part of the UNESCO‑listed Historic Centre of Warsaw.

Zamek Królewski w Warszawie to dawna rezydencja władców Polski, położona na Placu Zamkowym, przy wejściu na Stare Miasto. Od XVI wieku pełnił funkcję siedziby króla i parlamentu Rzeczypospolitej, a w jego murach uchwalono Konstytucję 3 Maja 1791 roku — pierwszą w Europie i drugą na świecie.
Podczas II wojny światowej zamek został całkowicie zniszczony, a jego odbudowa w latach 1971–1984 stała się jednym z największych społecznych przedsięwzięć powojennej Polski. Dziś zamek pełni funkcję muzeum i reprezentacyjnej rezydencji państwowej. W jego wnętrzach znajdują się apartamenty królewskie, Sala Senatorska, kolekcje malarstwa europejskiego (m.in. Rembrandt), dzieła Canaletta oraz galerie porcelany.
Całość jest częścią zespołu Starego Miasta wpisanego w 1980 roku na listę UNESCO.
