The Regional Center for Memory Education is the newest branch of the Museum of the Tarnów Region, housed in a modern brick‑and‑glass building located on the grounds of the former barracks of the 16th Infantry Regiment of the Polish Army. It evolved from the former Home Army Memorial Chamber, established by Brigadier General Zdzisław Baszak — a veteran of the 1939 campaign, member of the resistance, and participant in the „III Most” operation.
Its permanent exhibition focuses mainly on World War II as experienced in Tarnów and the surrounding region. It presents the history of the local military units — the 16th Infantry Regiment and the 5th Mounted Rifles Regiment — as well as the September 1939 campaign, daily life under German occupation, and the activities of the resistance. The museum displays uniforms, weapons, photographs, documents and rare wartime artefacts, while also highlighting major local events such as the first mass transport of Poles to Auschwitz, the „III Most” operation, and the Battle of Jamna.

Regionalne Centrum Edukacji o Pamięci to najmłodszy oddział Muzeum Ziemi Tarnowskiej, mieszczący się w nowoczesnym, ceglasto‑szklanym budynku zlokalizowanym na terenie dawnych koszar 16 Pułku Piechoty Wojska Polskiego. Placówka powstała na bazie dawnej Izby Pamięci Armii Krajowej, tworzonej przez gen. bryg. Zdzisława Baszaka — żołnierza kampanii 1939 roku, konspiratora ZWZ‑AK i uczestnika operacji „III Most”.
Stała ekspozycja poświęcona jest przede wszystkim historii II wojny światowej w Tarnowie i regionie. Obejmuje ona m.in. losy „tarnowskich” formacji wojskowych — 16 Pułku Piechoty oraz 5 Pułku Strzelców Konnych — a także realia września 1939 roku, niemiecką okupację, działalność konspiracyjną i historie mieszkańców stawiających opór. Prezentowane są mundury, broń, fotografie, dokumenty oraz unikatowe pamiątki. Ważnym elementem narracji są także lokalne epizody wojenne, takie jak pierwszy masowy transport Polaków do Auschwitz, operacja „III Most” czy bitwa na Jamnej.
